Big smooches for Grandma Bliss

We were able to see our beloved Grandma Bliss on our visit to Utah. She is so soft, cuddly, and loving. She gets more celestially beautiful as each year passes. I love the softness and smell of her skin and especially love feeling so adored by her. She is a special lady.

Sealing Day for Dave and Firusa

Dave and Firusa were sealed on June 22, 2010 at 1:45 in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a very meaningful day for our family. We all love Dave so much and have watched him become a great dad and husband. Mila and Sophie were so precious in their little white dresses...there were no dry eyes when they entered the sealing room. Firusa was stunning beyond belief and Dave is one fortunate son of a gun to have her as an eternal companion.

Kennecott Copper Mines..a fascinating place!

Kennecott was a highlight of the week. The hole in the mountain was dug out by man, one explosion and one dump truck at a time. The copper is put through a series of processes and transported from one location to another until the copper is pure and in large sheets ready to use in our everyday appliances and modern technology. The wheel below is the actual size of the dump truck wheel that transports the broken fragments of rock blasted from the mountain.

Life at Robert's Trendwest

Pam and Wayne dished out first class pampering to our family and Dan's family during our stay in Utah. We had dark, cool rooms in the basement, mints on the pillows and fans to boot. The pool was always open, someone up for tennis and goodies and treats available on the hour for snacking. Forget airline tickets to exotic locations...we've got the Roberts.

Shoshone Falls

On our way to Utah we took pit stop at Shoshone Falls, only a few miles outside of Twin Falls. It was astounding. The water level was very low due to irrigation and the power plant, but even still is was a beautiful sight to behold. The park was immaculate, the rocks were gigantic, and the sound of the water over the falls was heavenly. We enjoyed it SO much.

Cooling Off!

Summer 2010 we did a lot of sprinklers under the trampoline, cooling our feet in the ditch, and running in the sprinklers. The biggest fan of getting soaked....Meg! Clark and Emily took swimming lessons at Angie Hobson's house. They were fantastic and became much better swimmers.

Family Home Evening

One and all gathered at our place on a Monday night for a smores and little smokey roasting followed by some campfire singing and a lesson about the Savior. In our yard was a Killdeer perched on the rocks along the side of our road. When a potential predator, us, came around, the Killdeer would limp off, performing the "broken-wing" act. This was done as a way to protect his little ones. A perfect symbol of the sacrifice of the Savior to bring us eternal safety. Everyone got a chance to ride Patches and we got many laughs watching Spencer and Lindsey get tossed from her back.
